Abstract
An ethnobotanical survey was carried out during 1984–87 in the forests of Nallamalais of Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, one of the peninsular states of India. The forests of Nallamalais are inhabited by Chenchus, aboriginals, and the oldest tribes of South India. Sixty four plant crude drugs that are in use among the Chenchus have been recorded with the help of local elders and traditional healers. An attempt has also been made to study the mode of living, culture etc., of this jungle tribe. Keywords
