Abstract
THE IMPACT of neck node metastases on the prognosis of patients with well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma is uncertain.1-14 Many of the earlier studies mixed patients with thyroid carcinoma of different histological types and grades, making an interpretation of results difficult. Three major centers have published their results in the last 15 years, specifically looking at the impact of patient and tumor factors on recurrence and survival in well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma. Each has adopted a different approach to the management of this tumor. Keywords
