Abstract
The analytical purification of the vits. D by the methods of maleic and citraconic anhydride condensation and by selective u.-v. irradiation was investigated. The condensation method is not suitable for quantitative removal of vit. A, and losses of vit. D always occur in its use. Vit. D destruction by the maleic anhydride-dioxan method is particularly severe. Selective u.-v. irradiation successfully destroys vit. A, but the method cannot at present be used to separate vit. A and vit. D. Methods for the analysis of vit. D which include either of the above methods of purification are of doubtful value. Keywords
