Abstract
Ground corn cobs were compared with ground hay in 1 trial and chopped hay in a 2nd trial when each comprised 20% of the ration. Feed intake, milk production, and milk compsition were measured. Ground corn cobs were a better roughage than ground hay and equal to chopped hay for maintaining feed intake and milk production. At 20% of the ration, none of these roughages maintained the pretrial milk fat concentrations. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
