Abstract
The need for a community geographic and utility management system is discussed. Information needs are identified, as are potential user groups such as local government agencies, utility companies, and engineering and surveying companies. The uses of such a management system are also considered. Potential methods to accomplish a community geographic and utility management information system are discussed. The results of several projects in both the public and private sectors are presented.
