Abstract
MEGALOBLASTIC anemia occurring in association with lesions of the gastrointestinal tract is unusual but has been reported with a variety of conditions.1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 Pictures closely resembling pernicious anemia have been reported to occur in intestinal strictures and anastomosis and have been recognized in the so-called blind-loop syndrome. Few cases of megaloblastic anemia associated with regional enteritis have been reported.1 , 11 , 14 , 15 Crohn and Yarnis,16 in their book on regional ileitis, mention this combination once.
