Abstract
The average transit time of single red blood cells through a nuclepore membrane filter (pore diameter and length, 5 μm and 10 μm, respectively) was measured using an improved method and was shown to be an index of deformability. An increased passage time, indicating reduced deformability, was observed in renal failure. Keywords
