Abstract

The titanium silicate molecular sieve, TS-1, exchanged with an aqueous solution of K₂CO₃ is an excellent heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate by an ester exchange reaction between ethylene carbonate and methanol.
