Abstract
Tertiary syphilis of the stomach is an uncommon condition, often difficult to distinguish clinically from peptic ulcer, or carcinoma. Criteria necessary to establish a reasonably certain diagnosis are reviewed. Improvement and apparent cure follow anti-syphilitic treatment. Only 2 previous cases of syphilis of the stomach, of congenital origin, have been found recorded. A 3d case is presented, with clinical cure and 14-yr. follow-up.
