Abstract
Gonadotropic hormone was administered to vit. A-deficient albino male rats and normal animals and the effect compared with controls. The wt. response of target organs (kidneys, testes, seminal vesicles) was normal in the vit. A deficient animals, thus proving that androgens could still be produced by the testes. The hormone had an injurious effect in vit. A deficiency, in particular blocking spermatogenesis at the spermatocyte level. Keywords
