Abstract
Nine cases of neuropathy occurred after renal transplantation; 7 femoral and 2 lateral femoral cutaneous. The average time of onset of symptoms is 2.2 days after surgery. Quadriceps weakness, hypoesthesia and abnormal results of electromyogram and nerve conduction studies are common and occur on the same side as the operation. The symptoms usually resolve within weeks but motor and sensory changes can persist. The lesion is presumably secondary to compression caused by a hematoma at the operative site. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
