MUSCULAR RELAXATION IN TETANUS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE EFFECT OF MEPHENESIN

Abstract
Although some variation in tolerance was observed, the intraven. admn. of 50 cc. of a 2% soln. of mephenesin produced muscular relaxation in 13 of 15 cases of severe or moderately severe tetanus. Two cases required repeated doses of rectal tribromo-ethanol for efficient muscular relaxation and control of convulsions.
