Abstract
Rethrolones are the alcohol components of the pyrethrins, a group of naturally occurring esters of chrvsanthemic and pyrethric acid.2) Pyrethrins are biodegradable and exhibit high insect toxicity but low mammalian toxicity.3) These desirable properties have promoted interest in the synthesis of rethrolones.4) In our previous paper1), we reported a new synthetic route to functionally substituted cyclopentenones according to the following reactions. Keywords
