Abstract
On February 20, 1997, Zachary Breaux appeared to have everything he had dreamed of and worked for within his grasp. The thirty-six-year-old jazz guitarist/composer was becoming established as a star in the jazz/hip hop industry. He had a long-term contract with Zebra Records, a California record company, to record six albums. His recently released third CD, Uptown Groove, had just reached number one on the contemporary jazz radio charts, and Zachary was set to begin a worldwide tour to promote the album.
