Abstract
An investigation of the chromosome number of the four commoner species of Fucus using a modified acetocarmine squash technique has revealed a likely diploid complement of 64 and a haploid complement of 32. The uniformity in chromosome number, size, and appearance in the various species helps to explain the ease with which hybrids are formed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
