Abstract
The absorption of I131-labeled triolein via the intestinal lymphatics was studied by cannulating the thoracic duct of rats. Normal, tumor-bearing (15% body weight) and pair-fed control animals were used. The amount of radioactively-labeled lipid absorbed into the lymph by groups of these animals was determined. The amount of fat recovered from the thoracic duct lymph of the tumor rats was significantly less than that recovered from the lymph of normal and pair-fed control animals.
