Abstract

Penicillium notatum was grown in an apparatus consisting of 50 feet of quarter-inch cellulose tubing wound in a coil on supports and suspended in a large Pyrex glass cylinder. The expt. could not be carried past the 16th day because leaks developed in the cellulose tubing owing to the action of the fungus.
