Abstract
Media containing the flourescein dye dose bengal have been found to suppress the growth of fungi trapped from the air when exposed to sunlight for a short period of time. This is due to photo-dynamic changes of the dye occurring with 3 to 6 minutes exposure to direct sunlight at midday. Exposure of media containing this dye to light in the laboratory under normal conditions seems to have no effect on the growth of fungi. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
