Abstract
A by‐product of the Reformatzky‐reaction of β‐ionone and ethyl γ‐bromocrotonate is a cis‐β‐ionylidene‐crotonic acid I. This acid can easily be converted into the cis‐C18‐ketone by means of lithiummethyl.Keywords
