Abstract
Vitamin Bo conjugate (pteroylhexaglutamylglutamic acid) is utilized by the ciliate T. geleii W. On the basis of its pteroylglutamic acid content it is twice as active as the free acid. Fermentation factor (pteroyldiglutamylglutamic acid) is utilized and its activity is intermediate between the other 2 compounds, on the basis of its pteroylglutamic acid content. Xanthopterine, [rho]-aminobenzoyl glutamic acid, pteroic acid and a methyl pteridine proved to be inactive, either alone or in combination. Keywords
