Low contrast digital filter processing with possibility of structural analysis by segmentation in connexe domains

Abstract
The authors describe a digital filter image processing similar to the 'blurred mask' analogic processing. An intensity level segmentation is applied to the filtered picture, giving various morphological and position parameters of one selected category of structures. The filter is applied to the solar granulation and to various other subjects. The physiologic aspect of this filter is discussed.
