Abstract
A parallel-plate vacuum chamber was used to measure the low energy electron fluence emitted from and established within irradiated materials. The variation of the electron fluence with photon energy and atomic number of the material was studied and implications for dosimetry discussed. The low energy electron fluence within soft tissues irradiated by photons is estimated as 4 x 106 electrons cm-2sec-1.This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
