Abstract
Sunflower seed meal after low temp., solvent extraction of the hulled seed (Sunrise) when fed as the only source of B complex vits. for weanling rats promoted growth and reproduction; it was appreciably superior to wheat-germ and corn-germ meals, far superior to defatted soybean meal and decidedly inferior to brewer''s yeast. At a 5% level, growth rate was not accelerated by daily supplements of thiamine, riboflavin, pyridoxine or Ca pantothenate, but was accelerated by feeding both thiamine and riboflavin. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
