Vortex propagation and radiation emission in Josephson tunnel junctions

Abstract
The fundamental frequency of emitted radiation from a Josephson tunnel junction biased on a « zero-field step » is measured and found to obey the voltage-frequency relation eV = hf, as predicted by the vortex-motion picture.
