Abstract
The effect of a plane wall on the hydrodynamic force exerted on a sphere moving parallel to it presents experimental difficulties. We describe an original method for the measurement of the force while keeping constant the distance between the wall and the sphere. The results are compared with the theoretical models of O'Neill, of Goldman et al., and of FaxénKeywords
