Abstract
One patient had an extrauterine pelvic Muellerian adenosarcoma that recurred on multiple occasions and was originally diagnosed as a benign lesion. Caution is needed in the initial interpretation of such lesions as adenofibromas. This lesion was compared with a benign adenomyoma of the uterus from a 2nd patient. Such benign neoplasms may serve as precursors for Muellerian adenosarcoma in some cases. Light microscopic and EM observations in the 1st case as well as data from the literature support this hypothesis.
