Abstract
A new Type IIS restriction endonuclease was identified, partially purified and characterized from a Bacillus cereus subsp. fluorescens strain. The enzyme recognizes the nonpalindromic sequence ACGGC and cleaves at a distance from it. The cleavage appears to occur with a .+-.1 basepair uncertainity. Keywords
