ACQUIRED HAEMOLYTIC ANAEMIA

Abstract
Forty‐five cases of drug‐induced haemolytic anaemia have been reported to the Swedish Adverse Drug Reaction Committee during the 5‐year period 1966–70. Methyldopa was responsible in 21 cases (47%) and caused the only two deaths. Sulfonamide preparations for long‐term use induced haemolysis in 10 patients.
