Abstract
When refluxed in tetrahydrofuran, tetraethycyclotetraphosphine and hexacarbonyl molybdenum afford the complex (EtP)5Mo(CO)4, whereas in cyclohexane a polymeric product [(EtP)4Mo(CO)2]n is obtained. The complex (EtP)4W(CO)4 is formed when tris(acetonitrile)tricarbonyltungsten and tetraethylcyclotetraphosphine are refluxed together in acetonitrile. Tetraethylcyclotetraphosphine reacts with bis(benzonitrile)palladium dichloride, copper(I) chloride and bromide to give (EtP)4PdCl2, (EtP)4CuCl, and (EtP)4CuBr. Although pentamethylcyclopentaphosphine reacts with copper(II) bromide to give (MeP)5CuBr, with the chloride the compound (MeP)4CuCl is obtained. Keywords
