Abstract
A low-temperature proton magnetic resonance study of beta PdH0.82 in the temperature range 30K2t2)J32/(bt)/(bt)3/2 where J3/2(bt) is a Bessel function of the first kind. Using this function, accurate values of the second and fourth moments are deduced. The second moment is approximately 35% less than the Van Vleck prediction for a randomly occupied rigid lattice of point magnetic dipoles. The ratio M4/M22 is as expected for an FCC lattice. The significance of these results is discussed. Keywords
