Abstract
Expts. with White Leghorn cockerels involving restricted diet, thyroidectomy, castration, testosterone propionate injns., thiouracil admn., and various combinations of these treatments revealed a dependence of comb growth on thyroid hormone as well as androgens. Data on comb, gonad, and thyroid wts. are discussed in support of the thesis that the influence of androgen and thyroid hormone on comb growth is a synergistic one. Keywords
