Abstract
A factorial 42 sand culture pot experiment, using different ratios of nutrient K and nutrient Mg, was carried out to study the interrelationships of the 2 nutrients in lucerne plants. The results showed that what may be called a one-way competition, with the uptake of Mg being reduced by an increase in nutrient K, whereas K absorption was hardly affected by the presence of nutrient Mg even at high levels. This oneway competition in the absorption of ions merits further investigation. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
