Untersuchungen zum Einfluß verschiedener Faktoren auf Kennzahlen der Pansenprotozoen bei Mastbullen

Abstract
SMR [Black-Pied dairy cattle] fattening bulls (live weight 310 kg) received a semi-synthetic model ration containing 30% sugar (nutrition level 2.0). The parameters of the protozoa population and the protozoa fraction were determined 0.5 h before and 1, 3 and 5 h after the feeding began. The maximum protozoa figure (545 .times. 103 before feeding) decreased after the feed intake. The percentage of protozoa species remained constant at the various sampling times; 87% were Entodinium. The content of easily soluble and easily hydrolyzable carbohydrates of the protozoa fraction was lowest (19%) before feeding. It increased to 41.5% of the dry matter 3 h after feeding began. After the beginning of feeding the amount of easily hydrolyzable carbohydrates increased from 0.7 g to 2.1 g in 1 liter rumen fluid. Sampling after the beginning of feeding had no influence on the amount of crude protein.
