Abstract
The relation of age to collagen and hexosamine content of aorta, tendon and skin was studied in rats from 4 weeks to 2-1/2 years of age. Collagen content in the skin increases gradually between 4 weeks and 8 months, while in aorta and tendon the increment occurs between 4 and 8 weeks. Hexosamine content increased with age in the aorta and decreased with age in the tendon and skin. Therefore, there is no change in H/C ratio in the aorta and decreased H/C ratio in tendon and skin. Keywords
