Abstract
Previous work done to stimulate growth by manipulation of the extremity blood supply was reviewed. The cause of bone growth distal to A-V fistula is explained. Physiologic venous stasis is the result of A-V fistula. A potentially less hazardous means of growth stimulation than creation of an A-V fistula might be developed. Venous obstruction is partial when a removable stenosis of femoral vein is formed in puppies. The effect on bone growth was minimal. There were no complications. Keywords
