Abstract
A new, well-defined procedure for linearizing double-time, statistical Green's functions is proposed. The resultant spectral function automatically conserves the first several frequency moments. This compares very favorably with the usual mean-field decoupling results, which conserve only the first (and, rarely, up to three) frequency moments. Keywords
