Abstract
Gas chromatographic and mass spectral analysis of hindgut volatiles from I. acuminatus (Gyllenhal) confirmed the presence of ipsenol and ipsdienol and revealed the presence of cis-verbenol. Field bioassays indicated that male and female beetles responded to a combination of ipsenol, ipsdienol and cis-verbenol. The optical isomers (S) ipsdienol and (S) cis-verbenol were the attractive components while the enantiomers seemed to suppress the response. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
