Abstract
Cardiac output was estimated by right-sided, left-sided, and transpulmonary dye curves in dogs. The time for blood recirculated through the coronary circulation to reach the densitometer was measured. The effects of various hypotensive agents were investigated. Coronary recirculation caused errors in the dye curves only in profound haemorrhagic shock, as halothane produced large increases in coronary circulation time. Systematic differences between transpulmonary and right or left sided dye curves were found. Keywords
