Metazoan parasites of the American eel (Anguilla rostrata (LeSueur)) in Newfoundland and Labrador

Abstract
Sixty American eels from six localities in Newfoundland and Labrador were examined for metazoan parasites during the period June, 1967–July, 1969. Fifty-eight percent were found to be infected with digenetic trematodes (three genera), cestodes (two genera), nematodes (two genera), acanthocephalans (two genera) and copepods (one genus).
