Abstract
Samples of 15 Turkish lignites were oxidized by performic acid. Their mineral matter was isolated without any important chemical decomposition. The x-ray diffraction method was employed to determine the mineral species in the isolated mineral matter and in the ashes of the lignite samples. The results were compared and discussed. Keywords
