Abstract
In 114 patients (52 males and 62 females) with long-standing pernicious anaemia, hypoferritinaemia was found in 27 (23.7%) and hypochromic microcytic anaemia in 19 (16.6%). Our findings indicate that iron deficiency is a common yet neglected complication of long-standing pernicious anaemia and warrants greater diagnostic and therapeutic attention. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
