Abstract
“ . . . the following hypotheses were developed: 1. High-dependent children are more suggestible than low-dependent children. 2. Children respond more strongly when adults give suggestions than when peers give suggestion. 3. The difference in suggestibility between high-dependent and low-dependent children is greater when suggestions are given by adults than when suggestions are given by peers . . ‥ The findings as a whole support the interpretation of suggestibility in terms of dependency behavior, especially if dependency is itself regarded as a class of learned responses which may be reinforced or extinguished by the responses of other persons.” (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
