Abstract
When a one-dimensional position-sensitive proportional counter (PSPC) is employed in a small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) system, detector-related problems might be encountered, such as nonuniformity of the detector, resolution function defined by the geometry of the receiving slit etc., all of which could cause distortion to the measured intensity profile. A set of experiments has been performed to test the significance of some of these problems, and corrections have been worked out to circumvent them. To obtain an optimized condition between flux and resolution, a wedge-shaped receiving slit is recommended. Keywords
