Abstract
In 12 female Sprague-Dawley rats maintained on a synthetic diet under controlled conditions of temp. and humidity the urinary levels of folic acid, riboflavin, niacin and the B6 group were determined microbiologically before and after the admn. of 500 r (including backscatter) of single exposure whole-body irradiation. Irradiation increased the urinary excretions of the vits. The anorexia induced might account for part of the increased riboflavin excretion. The exact relationships of reduced food intake and the post-irradiation excretion of vit. Bg are not clear. The increases of niacin and folic acid excretion are primarily irradiation effects. Keywords
