Abstract
Mutations which affect the regulation of Neurospora repressible alkaline phosphatase do so by altering the rate of de novo alkaline phosphatase synthesis. In regulatory mutants the rate of alkaline phosphatase polypeptide synthesis can vary over a 1000-fold range. Following transfer to phosphate-free medium, the wild-type cell is capable of increasing the rate of synthesis of alkaline phosphatase molecules within 30–45 min. This publication has 19 references indexed in Scilit:
