Abstract
Gravure offset printing has been shown to have promising advantages for the production of fine line and multilayer structures in the field of electronics manufacturing. Important advantages are the possibility to realise narrow lines compared with conventional thick film technology and to print on 3D objects. Hence, this enables miniaturising electronic packages. The quality of the printed image depends on the printing plates, silicone rubber pads, printing inks, printing parameters and printing machines. In this paper the viscosity of the inks has been modified and the resultant effect on the printing quality has been studied. Also, the dependence of the printing trace on the depth of engravings in the printing plate has been studied. By optimising all parameters it was possible to print narrow lines even on curved edges. Keywords
