Abstract
The selenium content of 450 grain and 415 forage samples from 52 counties or areas in Ontario was determined. All areas surveyed produced some samples which contained 0.03 ppm selenium or less. Seventy-nine percent of the grain and 86% of the forage samples contained less than 0.10 ppm Se, the minimum recommended dietary requirement for animals. There was considerable variability in the Se content of samples within counties or regions. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
