Abstract
A modification of the method descr. by Davidson was given whereby it was possible to obtain uricase with a Qo2 of about 6000. The prep. had a very low Fe content (about 0.025%). The purified prep. had the same R.Q. as crude preps. and it was, therefore, considered improbable that the oxidation and decarboxylation of uric acid were catalysed by different enzymes. An account was given of the action of different inhibitors on the purified uricase prep., and some coupled oxidations that could be produced by the H2O2 formed in the reaction were descr. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
