Abstract
For appraising Army Field Ration A, this short method of calculating the nutritive value of diets is adequate and a valuable timesaver. It should be useful for a rough approximation of the nutritive value of other liberal diets relatively unrestricted as to kinds and forms of foods. In its application elsewhere, however, it may require adaptation to fit the food habits or pattern of the group under investigation. Properly adapted, this general method is a valuable means of obtaining a rough measure of the probable nutritional value of the diet concerned. Keywords
