Abstract
A new procedure for evaluating sewage sludge amenability to anaerobic digestion has been developed. This test can be run in a batch reactor without mixing and pH correction, using for subsequent tests the same biological seed sludge stored without any particular care. It also appears that, by utilizing as a seed the sludge digested in a previous test, the biological potential improves. However, to evaluate properly the sludge amenability to anaerobic digestion, a more valid parameter than volatile suspended solids, such as COD, must be used. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
